How the Medical Expense Guarantee Works
If you are traveling with Barbarhouse and have signed up for the Travel Protected Policy for Medical Expenses, you should know that the guarantee provides reimbursement or direct payment for medical expenses incurred locally, medical services for accidents or sudden illnesses, essential and non-postponable treatment. To activate the Medical Expenses guarantee, you need to call the 24-hour Organizational Structure at the Turin number +39 0116523211.
Here are the details of your travel insurance for medical expenses
If these are hospitalization expenses, they are reimbursed within the cost limits of public hospitals, and in any case within the sums insured.
The maximum limits for expenses incurred in Italy are Euro 5,000.00 .For expenses exceeding Euro 1,000.00, prior authorization from the Organizational Structure is required, in the absence of which the policy limit shall be understood to be Euro 1,000.00.
Other technical details about the Travel Protected policy
Excessand overdraft - To the guarantees and benefits of your travel insurance there is the application of an excess of Euro 50.00.
Hospitalization inthe European Union - In case of hospitalization for health care in a country of the European Union, thanks to the use of the Health Insurance Card (European Health Insurance Card - TEAM) on which are imprinted the codes necessary to guarantee every Italian citizen health care even in the countries of the European Union, there will be no application of overdraft or deductible.
Behavior in case of a claim
If in the event of a claim you have not immediately contacted the Organizational Structure, in order to obtain reimbursement for medical expenses guaranteed by Barbarhouse and UnipolSai's Viaggi Protetto, you must report the claim to the company within 15 days from the date of your return in the following ways:
- write an e-mail to sinistriturismo[@]unipolsai.it
- call the toll-free number 800406858 operating Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m;
send the request to complete with the following documents: own personal data, tax code, identification data of the "Travel Protected" card, IBAN code; local doctor's diagnosis; originals of paid invoices or receipts; booking statement/travel contract.
