Accompanying the exhibition event, which includes the two specialized biennial events of EuroCucina and Salone Internazionale del Bagno, will be the usual (busy) program of meetings and talks with designers and architects: the participation of Dejan Sudjic, Jeanne Gang and the multi-award-winning Francis Kéré, winner in 2022 also of the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize, among other internationally prominent designers, has been announced. Three major installations will also be unveiled, including the highly anticipated Interiors by David Lynch and A Thinking Room, created by the influential U.S. director.
Flanking the Salone del Mobile will be the unmissable Milano Design Week, the week dedicated to design with events spread throughout the city for a diverse audience.
This year the event will revolve around the guiding theme Materia Natura, chosen to enhance sustainability in creative terms.
With its exhibitions, installations and encounters, Milano Design Week will expand into different city districts, each distinguished by its own identity and offerings: visitors will thus be able to explore Milan by moving between the historic districts in the city center and the emerging areas, which have long welcomed cutting-edge projects and experimental experiences.
And, as always, among the must-see stops is the one at Triennale Milano, where right around the time of Milano Design Week the retrospective Io sono un Drago (open from April 13 to October 13, 2024), dedicated to the eclectic production of architect and designer Alessandro Mendini, and the immersive installation designed by French designer Philippe Starckwill be inaugurated.
Opening hours, both for visitors and for the press and exhibitors, are organized to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate and fully experience the Salone del Mobile: from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for visitors, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for the press, and from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. for exhibitors.
