The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a state of public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC) for the current situation related to COVID-19.

We are constantly and carefully monitoring all official indications from the Italian government and regional health authorities and the President of the Apulia Region Michele Emiliano.

On this page we will include all available updates as there is news in order to guarantee the summer vacations in the province of Lecce, province of Taranto, province of Brindisi, province of BAT and province of Bari.

What are we doing to address the current situation related to COVID-19 within our BarbarHouse s.r.l. policy.

Since we can't do anything but try to mitigate the effects of the total uncertainty that is characterizing this period we are adopting a policy that aims to balance the protection of all the interests at stake i.e. first and foremost that of travelers and owners and ultimately our own and that of our employees and that of the companies related to the induced generated by us.

Just as every tourist who has paid with his savings for a vacation that may not come true, there is an owner who relies on clear and certain cancellation conditions and related income to be able to meet the payment of mortgages and salaries.

We at BarbarHouse s.r.l. have decided that the customer/tourist will not lose the deposit paid if there are objective causes of cancellation due to coronavirus (covid-19) but will have a double option:

  • issue of a voucher to be used in the same property by 16/03/2021 for a stay by 31/12/2021.
  • Partial refund of 50% of the amount paid with loss of the remaining 50%.

The following are to be considered objective causes of cancellation: adoption of measures involving lockdown in Italy, inability to travel due to Italian government restrictions, restrictions on the movement of people of the region of Puglia, mandatory quarantine of the customer/tourist who made the reservation or one of his guests communicated at the time of booking and already acquired in our information systems, all cases that must explain effectiveness exclusively during the period of stay booked.

The followingare not objective causes of cancellation:government restrictions of foreign governments, fear of travel, personal travel bans for reasons not related to health emergencies, vacation changes, loss of work, cancellation of a subjectively important event.

Please note, despite the fact that BarbarHouse s.r.l. is a Travel Agency and Tour Operator does not apply package tours under any circumstances, but acts as a mere intermediary in tourist leases in accordance with the Short Leases Act (D. L. 50/2017).

Therefore, BarbarHouse s.r.l.'s booking voucher does not constitute any eligible travel documents for any airline

Reservations with check-in until 31/05/2020

the customer/tourist will not lose the deposit paid and will have the double option of A) receive a voucher in the same amount as the amount paid.

  • the voucher will be valid for a reservation on the same property until 31/12/2021.
  • If the property is not available in the requested period, the voucher will be valid on any other property in our catalog at the time of booking.
  • To obtain the voucher you must agree to receive it in writing, either through our internal messaging system, or by email stating all terms.
  • The voucher is to be used within one year i.e. by 16/03/2021 for any stay by 31/12/2021.
  • If it is not used within this deadline you will totally lose what you have paid.
  • once the voucher has been used, it will no longer be possible to change the dates of stay and normal contract terms will apply.
  • the shift of dates will result in the application of the rates in force for the period chosen subject to the minimum cost already provided for the original period, therefore,
  • should the period of the shift have a higher rental amount, the customer will have to pay the difference in price;
  • on the other hand, should the chosen period have a lower cost,the price of the new reservation will remain the original one .
    • B) receive an immediate refund of 50%.
  • this is not a right to reimbursement, in this case the reimbursement is merely in the nature of a settlement with final settlement of all claims and involves the loss of the remaining 50%.
  • In order to receive the refund, it must be agreed to receive it in writing by PEC or registered mail with return receipt stating all terms.
  • The refund will be disbursed within 8 weeks from the acceptance of the refund by BarbarHouse s.r.l. on the IBAN coordinates that the customer will indicate to us

    • This benefit policy, in order to show all our closeness to the people who tested positive for covid-19 (who present suitable medical certificate) and those residing in Piedmont, Lombardy and Veneto (as per the reservation already registered) are understood to be extended to 30/06/2020.

    Reservations made before March 16, 2020 with check-in from June 01, 2020.

  • The customer/tourist will have the opportunity to request the shift of the reservation within 30 days prior to the check-in date free of charge, only on the same property until 31/12/2021, subject to the availability of the same in the desired period, with simultaneous payment of the expected balance. Failure to pay the balance does not entitle to any shift.
  • the shift of dates will result in the application of the rates in force for the chosen period subject to the minimum cost already provided for the original period, therefore:
  • should the period of the shift have a higher rental amount, the customer must pay the difference in price ;
  • on the other hand, should the chosen period have a lower cost, the price of the new reservation will remain the original one .
  • In the event that the customer wishes to cancel the reservation due to subjective causes of the customer, the standard cancellation policy stated on the general terms and conditions below will apply:

    • The tourist may give cancellation of the reservation, by registered letter with return receipt in advance by fax to 0833 19 01 114 or by e-mail to info@perledipuglia.it, within 15 days from the date of arrival. In this case he/she will forfeit the entire amount paid as a deposit. In the event that the cancellation of the reservation occurs in a time frame of less than 15 days prior to arrival, the customer, in addition to losing the deposit paid, will be required to pay to the company a penalty equal to 30% of the entire rent for a total of 70%.

    Reservations made after March 16, 2020 with check-in starting June 01, 2020

  • Rental deposit required for booking confirmation reduced to 20% (instead of 40%). the client is not entitled to free shifting of the reservation to other dates but shifting is always possible by contacting our reservation center by paying the prescribed penalties.
  • At the time of new cases of confirmed contagions by the governmental authorities at the national level or restrictive measures imposed by the Apulia Region that create new objective causes for cancellation, the customer may request the shift of the reservation
  • In other period of 2020 not losing the deposit paid.
  • In other period of 2021 by supplementing the deposit of an additional 20% (for a total of 40%) within 7 days of the date change, failing which the 20% paid at the time of booking will be forfeited.
  • In case the customer intends to cancel the reservation due to subjective causes of the customer the exceptional cancellation policy stated here will apply
    • The tourist may give cancellation of the reservation, by registered letter with return receipt in advance by fax to 0833 19 01 114 or by e-mail to info@perledipuglia.it, within 14 days from the date of arrival. In this case, he/she will forfeit the entire amount paid as a deposit. In the event that the cancellation of the reservation occurs in a time frame of less than 14 days prior to arrival, the customer, in addition to losing the deposit paid, will be required to pay to the company a penalty equal to 20% of the entire rent for a total of 40%.

    Booking and cancellation policies for reservations arising from OTAs.

    Reservations originating from booking.com, homeaway, airbnb, expedia and all other OTAs are subject exclusively to the booking terms and conditions provided for such OTAs. BarbarHouse s.r.l. being subject to the imposed booking conditions can do no more than follow up.
