Travel share reimbursement with Protected Travel

What does the policy cover?

The guarantee assures the reimbursement of the unused portion of the cost of the trip in the event that the Insured, his/her family members or travel companion enrolled at the same time, are forced to interrupt the trip for one of the following reasons:

  • (a) "Medical re-entry of the Insured" for health reasons, arranged and organized by the Organizational Structure of UnipolAssistance Servizi S.c.r.l;
  • b) Hospitalization of the traveler causing even partial interruption of the trip, but in any case exceeding 24 hours;
  • c) "Early return of the Insured" to his/her residence due to the death of a family member not participating in the trip, his/her or his/her traveling companion, enrolled at the same time;
  • d) Early return of family members and a travel companion due to the death of the insured.
  • How much is the reimbursement?

    The reimbursement is equal to the cost of the days missing from the completion of the trip, by dividing the total cost of the Tour Operator's package, net of the registration/insurance fees, by the days of the trip's duration: the amount thus obtained will be multiplied by the days not used.

    In any case, the reimbursement may not exceed Euro 4,000.00 per event.

    Provisions and limitations of compensation

    The operation of the guarantee is subject to the following provisions and limitations of compensation, namely:

  • If the insured person is simultaneously enrolled on a trip with his family members and/or other persons, in the event of interruption, the guarantee shall be deemed to be operative not only for the insured person directly involved in the event and his family members, but also for only one of the traveling companions on the condition that they are also insured.
  • Claims relating to interruptions of stay for "Medical Re-entry of the insured" not organized by the Organizational Structure of UnipolAssistance Servizi S.c.r.l. are not eligible for the guarantee.
  • Deductible/discoverage

    Reimbursement is paid without application of any deductible/ deductible.

    Behavior in the event of a claim

    For the medical re-entry of the Insured due to health reasons, the Insured must previously contact the Organizational Structure of UnipolAssistance Servizi S.c.r.l. at +39 0116523211 communicating the number of the "Viaggi Protetto" card in his hands.

    UnipolAssistance Servizi S.c.r.l. will arrange the medical re-entry based on the benefits provided by the "Viaggi Protetto" card.

    Subsequently, the Insured must:

    - inform in writing or by telefax to 051.7096551 UnipolSai Assicurazioni S.p.A. -- Via dell'Unione Europea 3/B, - 20097, San Donato Milanese (MI) enclosing the travel statement

    or

    - call the toll-free number 800406858

    Operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

    For other guarantees, the Insured must send, within 15 days from the date of return, the relevant claim to: UnipolSai Assicurazioni S.p.A. - Tourism Claims Office - C.P. 78 - 20097 - San Donato Milanese (MI), accompanied by the following

    documents:

    - first name, last name, tax code,

    complete home address;

    - medical certification;

    - travel statement and other documents proving the reasons for the interruption of the trip/rental/rental;

    - IBAN code.
